Wendouree spans a wide spread of homes, and each calls for a different approach. The post-war and 1960s to 1980s brick-veneer homes through central Wendouree and Lake Gardens are straightforward retrofits, with good roof space for ducted gas. The substantial period homes around the Lake Wendouree foreshore, many heritage, high-ceilinged and lightly insulated, need careful heat-load sizing because their volume and glazing demand more output than the floor area alone suggests.
