Delacombe has expanded quickly, with new estates of family homes sitting alongside older established streets toward Sebastopol. That mix means we see the full spread of jobs here: fresh ducted systems on new builds, replacements of ageing furnaces on older homes, and all-electric reverse-cycle installs for households dropping their gas connection. We size each to the home, the newer larger floor plans need more output than people expect for a Ballarat winter, while the older homes need a careful look at insulation and the existing heater.

Most of Delacombe is on natural gas, so ducted gas heating is the cheap-to-run default for a long winter. For the all-electric estate homes, a cold-climate ducted reverse-cycle system that heats and cools from one set of ducts pairs neatly with rooftop solar. And because Ballarat’s summers are dry, plenty of Delacombe homes get excellent value from low-running-cost ducted evaporative cooling instead of refrigerated.

The newer estate homes here are generally on concrete slabs with good roof access, which makes a ducted retrofit cleaner than in Ballarat’s older period suburbs. Where a home was built heater-ready, adding ducted gas or reverse cycle is straightforward. We still run the full heat-load calculation, an open-plan living void with high ceilings always needs more than the floor area suggests, and we build zoning in so you are not heating empty bedrooms through a Delacombe winter.
